As
founder of Pure Athletic, my main motivation is to build a
brand that will be rooted in the "purity" of authentic
sport and fitness. My personal passion is running. I have
also spent 20 years in the product development and manufacturing
side of the athletic footwear industry working for two of
the major brands. As the years progressed with my running
(30 years and still going), I have had more and more problems
with the current shoe construction. More technology was going
into the product, but it was making the product less comfortable
for me. The footwear industry (and the world for that matter)
has gotten very complex. I feel that most athletic shoes are
too complicated, and it is hard to figure out where to start
when choosing a new shoe. As a consumer, the last thing I
need to deal with is another brand to have to choose from.
But the truth is it may take a new brand, which isnt
tied to the existing business structure (very fashion, image
and commodity driven) in this industry, to cut through the
complications and create a simpler alternative.
Having spent 10 of my 20 years in this industry living and
working in the Far East, I have an intimate understanding
of the best manufacturers and manufacturing technologies (and
make no doubt about it, there are some first class manufacturing
companies in this industry). I have combined this knowledge
with my personal running experiences, to develop a new product
line based on a "pure & simple" technology platform.
The result of this is a new level of performance, quality
and comfort.
Pure Athletic products and programs are designed for the consumer
who is seeking a high quality, technically advanced, yet simple
alternative. Each product will include our proprietary "inside
out" technology package, which addresses the inside of
the shoe first with comfort and custom fit technologies, along
with our state of the art, yet "pure & simple"
approach to cushioning.
Our programs will also be based around our "pure &
simple" approach
simply servicing our customer without
the distraction and expense of athlete endorsement and other
image driven programs that dont directly benefit our
product or our service to our customers. We will create our
retail channels based on this philosophy, and we will invest
in partnership programs to provide us with more direct contact
with our customers.
